Bill described the project:

1. The fibreglass pole and yardarm were installed in 1999;

2. Our club invested nearly a thousand dollars for materials ...including a beautiful engraved plaque;

3. The Yarmouth Park District erected the pole gratis. They also set the granite boulder in place, mounted the plaque and landscaped the area. They continue maintaining the site, including a new US flag every year;

4. The location is 3 miles north of Mid Cape Highway at Exit 8 (Station Ave). Parking is free.

Other interesting features of the site are:

• A long boardwalk over the marsh out to the Bay (including an Osprey nesting platform, I think);
• A small boat ramp into Chase Garden Creek (which empties into Bass Hole and the Bay);
• A small beach (Grey's Beach?) with lifeguard and picnic area;
• Great fishing along the banks of Chase Garden Creek when the tide is ripping through.
